Overview
Possible certifications: Members aspiring to join the institutes are required to demonstrate a deep understanding of the Uniform Body of Knowledge (UBK) also known as the common body of knowledge (CBK), competency in management consultancy interfaces and a commitment to continuing education (Life Long Learning). Candidates are also required to demonstrate awareness of ethical issues and ethical conduct in the business of management consultancy. Examinations may be in writing or through interview (face to face) or Zoom meeting. In exceptional cases, accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) may be considered as part of the examination and assessment process.

Certified Management Consultants (CMC): This is the highest certification of the International Management Consultants’ Organisation (International CMC organisation). Members and Fellows of the institutes may be upgraded to this status after taking a qualifying or transfer examination. Candidates who are not already members of the institute may also apply directly for the certification as CMC. In all cases, to be certified, candidates are required to take an examination which is designed to ensure that those wishing to be so certified have a deep and sufficient understanding of the essentials of management consulting, the Uniform Body of Knowledge (UBK), the management consulting process (the various models) and competency in the handling of management consultancy interfaces. To be eligible, candidates must understand the ethical issues in consulting and sign an undertaking to operate strictly within the code of ethical professional conduct enacted by the international CMC organisation.
Fellow CMC (FCMC): Members holding the CMC status may be upgraded to FCMC after spending at least three (3) years of holding a CMC status. Direct application to be enrolled as FCMC may be considered if the candidate is a senior figure in the profession of management consultancy, provided he can provide verifiable evidence of current engagements and verifiable projects. In all cases, candidates must take a CMC examination. In assessing such a candidate, Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) may be considered.
