The International Certified Management Consultants Organisation is registered in the United Kingdom as an International Certifying professional body. It is registered as a company (Limited by guarantee) and as a nonprofit self-regulatory organisation. Its specific objectives among others are:
- To create, maintain, and extend high professional standards of quality in management consulting.
- To promote global dialogue and cooperation among individual consultants, consultancy practices (Firms) consultancy services, relevant international organisations and relevant government agencies worldwide.
- To train, test, examine, assess, and certify trainee consultants to indicate level of achievement and seniority in the field of management consultancy.
4. To enact a strict code of ethical professional conduct that corporate members and individual consultants will be expected to strictly comply with in the conduct of consulting business.
5. To collaborate with educational institutions, providers of training services, and consultancy associations in the training and certification of management consultants.
6. To articulate and implement a self-evidence structured mechanism underpinned by the Uniform Body of Knowledge (UBK) and designed to enhance the training of management consultants and stipulate elements of equivalence for practical reciprocity in the recognition of the CMC organisation, or its franchise, branches, or chapters, or other global stakeholders in the field of management consultancy.
7. To authorise other trainers, consultancy associations, consultancy institutes, or management consultancy firms to train and recommend CMC applicants for approval and certification by the international CMC organisation.
8. To issue practicing licenses to individual management consultants.
9. To accredit management consultancy programme firms.
10. To accredit educational programmes of any university, college or training provider in the field of management and management consultancy and to rate and designate them as suitable for membership and certifications of the international CMC organisation.
